Oscar Watching Party
February 22
In the Modern Auditorium. Admission is free. Reservations are required. Seating is limited. Hosted by DFW.com, the Modern, and The Lone Star Film Society
Come dressed in your Oscar best – or, if the spirit strikes you, come dressed as Brad, Angelina, a washed-up pro wrestler, or even a wacky nun with a thick Bronx accent.
Walk the red carpet at the Modern, where DFW.com’s crack team of entertainment junkies will be on hand to talk about the nominated movies and to award prizes. (And to tell you if your dress is worthy of a nomination.)
To reserve a spot, call 817.840.2154 or email auditoriumprograms@themodern.org
The Schedule:
6 pm: Doors open. Walk the red carpet, where the paparazzi’s flashbulbs will be popping. DFW.com’s style gurus John Metz and Sonya Cisneros will let you know if you’re a fashion hit or runway roadkill. 6:45 pm: Star-Telegram and DFW.com film critic Christopher Kelly talks about the year in film and takes your questions. 7 pm: The Oscar telecast begins. The telecast will be aired via satellite in the Modern’s auditorium. During the commercial breaks: Win a wide array of prizes, including free DVDs, movie tickets, membership to the Modern’s “Reel People,” and other surprises.
