Basically Beethoven Festival

Fine Arts Chamber Players (FACP) presents the 29th Annual Basically Beethoven Festival, a series of free classical chamber music concerts beginning Sunday, July 5 through July 26.

The 2009 Basically Beethoven Festival will be back in Fair Park ’s Texas Discovery Garden at 3601 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. , Dallas , TX 75210 . The doors open at 2:00 PM for the 2:30 pre-concert recital, For the Love of Music, presented by young local music competition winners. At 3:00PM, the chamber music performances begin.

All concerts are FREE TO THE PUBLIC, including free admission to the Texas Discovery Gardens and free parking. No reservations or tickets are required. 3:00 P.M. - Bax – Adagio non troppo from String Quartet in E Major Beethoven - Quintet for Strings in C Major op. 29 Jerome Kern Songs arranged by the composer for string quartet

JULY 19

2:30 P.M. - For the Love of Music: Violinist Jacqueline Morant Concertmaster of the YouTube Orchestra

3:00 P.M. - Beethoven - Trio for violin, cello and piano in B-flat Major, op. 11
Popper - Requiem for Three Cellos and Piano, op. 66
Beethoven - Bei Männern, welche Liebe fühlen

2:30 P.M. - For the Love of Music: Flutist Louis Lu, Winner of the Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition

3:00 P.M. - Beethoven/Rosenblatt - Adagio for oboe and strings from the sketch for Beethoven's Oboe Concerto
Mozart - Quartet for Oboe and Strings in F Major, K 370 Beethoven - Folk Songs for voice, violin, cello and piano

All 3:00 PM concerts feature musicians from the Dallas & Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras, The Dallas Opera Orchestra, area university faculties and professional freelance musicians.
