Description

Experience Napa County's Finest Wines Paired with an Unforgettable Dinner Featuring the Season's Best Tomatoes

Victory Tavern City Grille is hosting a celebration of Napa's Rombauer Vineyards on Thursday, July 16. A mingling reception with passed Chef's Selection hors d'oeuvres will kick off a relaxed evening around the table enjoying four courses of culinary inspirations from Chef Jim Oetting - all paired with Rombauer's wines, known for production of ultra-premium Napa Valley and Carneros varietals.

Chuck Weintraub, Regional Sales Rep for Rombauer, will be on hand to present the wines and answer questions. Among the highlights of the evening will the 2007 Carneros Chardonnay, consistently highly rated, and the 2006 Carneros Merlot. The main course will feature the 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet, a rich, luscious wine with complex fruit balanced by moderate tannins - a food friendly wine. For dessert, don't miss Rombauer's "Joy" Late Harvest Chardonnay.

1st Course: Alaskan Halibut, Olive oil Poached Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, Coriander Cucumber Sauce. 2007 Carneros Chardonnay

2nd Course: Blackberry BBQ Mopped Duck Breast, Fresh Picked Arugula, Heirloom Toybox Tomatoes, Vanilla Shallot Vinaigrette. 2006 Carneros Merlot

3rd Course: Grilled Flatiron Steak & Heirloom Tomatoes, Beer Battered Onion Ring, Chimichurri Butter 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

4th Course: Texas Peach & Blueberry Tatin Cake. "Joy" Late Harvest Chardonnay
