Open Casting Call for Jerry Seinfeld’s “The Marriage Ref”
June 12
, 2009
The casting team is searching for outgoing and opinionated couples in long-term relationships (including newlyweds), who are willing to appear on national television and have a long-standing argument or issue that must be resolved. No problem is too small.
- Is there an object, a person, or a habit (e.g. computer, pet, a friend, the remote control) that is a third wheel in your relationship and causes a problem?
- Or does your partner have an annoying obnoxious habit or item that causes fights?
- Does your partner do things like withhold sex after a fight?
Whether couples are arguing about parenting, pets, fashion, money, in-laws, weight, housework, chores, communication, neatness, jealousy, past history, friends or sex – the casting team wants to know what makes you nuts when it comes to your partner and why you absolutely need a marriage ref to decide who is right and who is wrong.

About the show
Jerry Seinfeld is back and in the producer’s chair for a funny and revealing series about the unpredictable and hilarious institution we call marriage. In his celebrated NBC sitcom Seinfeld, Jerry and friends became household names by highlighting humorous and relatable situations surrounding single life in New York City.
In Jerry’s new primetime venture, married life takes center stage as celebrities, comedians and sports stars candidly comment, judge and decide who’s right and who’s wrong in real-life disputes between real-life spouses. "The Marriage Ref" is produced by Seinfeld's Columbus 81 Productions and Shed Media with international distribution by Endemol. Seinfeld, Ellen Rakieten ("The Oprah Winfrey Show"), Nick Emmerson ("Supernanny," “The Real Housewives of New York City”) and Jennifer O'Connell ("The Real Housewives of New York City," “It’s Me or the Dog”) serve as executive producers.
