The Inwood Living Room Series Movie Screening: My Geisha
June 15, 2009
Starring Shirley MacLaine and Yves Montand, the film is a romantic, cinematic twist on Puccini's Madame Butterfly as a director inadvertently casts his own wife, disguised as a Japanese actress, to perform the lead role in his film of this much loved story. The twists and turns you would expect from an early 1960s movie, but a film with overlooked charms.
