Pearl At Commerce is located at 2038 Commerce St. in downtown Dallas, just around the corner from the former Vocalian/Brunswick office at 508 Park Ave. where the final Robert Johnson recording sessions took place on June 20th, 1937. The “Robert Johnson Dallas Sessions Festival” is a special evening of traditional blues to celebrate the anniversary of these sessions. A Robert Johnson song competition will be hosted by Joel Foy, who will also present some little known facts about Johnson's life and music and perform a set of pre-war blues with special guests. Prizes and gifts will be awarded to both competitors and audience members throughout the evening. John Mooney will be headlining with two sets of high energy acoustic blues! This is the premier acoustic blues event in Dallas!
