Biotechnology: Solutions for what ails you -- This years theme centers around wellness, including cholesterol research, cutting edge medicine, research, obesity, probiotics, nutrition, and much more. We will have several hands-on workshops, door prizes and a undergraduate/graduate poster session with cash prizes. The conference is a collaborative effort of several institutions, including Collin College, UT Southwestern Medical School, Region 10, Agri Life Extension, Agri Life Research and others. This event primarily targets teachers, educators, county extension agents, college students and outreach professionals. Our goals for the conference include providing a forum for exchange of ideas, improvement of teacher understanding of scientific concepts and cutting edge technologies, and to help teachers encourage young people to consider technical biology careers at an early age. Contact Bridgette Kirkpatrick for conference cost at (972) 881-5853.
