The Plano Amateur Radio Klub (PARK) Field Day
June 28
The Plano Amateur Radio Klub (PARK) will be holding its Field Day from 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27 through 1:00 p.m.Sunday June 28 for 24 hours straight at Hoblitzelle Park in Plano.
Field Day started in 1933, as a way for Amateur Radio operators to demonstrate and practice emergency communications. The members of PARK will set up in the park, and use emergency power to contact other hams around the US and possibly the world.
There will be a Get On The Air Station for the public with assistance of an experienced Ham Operator, to try to make contacts with hams somewhere in the world. Kids as young as 7, can try this out as well as their parents and grand parents. When you make a contact you will get a QSL card to prove you made the contact.
