Alash, masters of Tuvan throat singing, a technique for singing multiple pitches at the same time, brings their artistry to the Crow Collection of Asian Art. This musical ensemble is dedicated to preserving traditional Tuvan music and culture. But at the same time, they also are great fans of Western songs. As a result, their music is a unique blend of old and new, as well as East and West. The singers are from Tuva, located at the southern edge of Siberia. The region was once a part of the Chinese and Mongolian empires.
Free for Friends of the Crow Collection and students with a valid ID, $10 for non-members. Register online or call 214-979-6438 for reservations.
