Inside Asia: Art, Music, Culture

Fumie Ono was born in Japan and has long resided in Los Angeles. She has collected American antique quilts for thirty five years, and has published two Japanese books featuring her quilt collection. Fumie Ono's quilts have been exhibited at eighteen venues in Japan and viewed by over three hundred thousand people. Previously, Fumi Ono judged the Tokyo International Festival and the Quilt Japan competeition nine times. In March 2009, Fumie Ono will visit the Dallas metroplex. She will discuss Japanese quilt -school systems and the influence of Japanese cultural tradition on quilt designs and color schemes at the Crow Collection of Asian Art. Join us for this enlightening peek into the history and cultural contexts surrounding Japanese quilts and quiltmaking.
