Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra - Shostakovich Tenth
March 22
The driving rhythms of Luzuriaga's Responsorio are inspired by the folk music of his native Ecuador. Then FWSO Principal Cellist Karen Basrak takes center stage to perform D'Albert's poetic concerto. One of Shostakovich's most acclaimed works, the Tenth Symphony was a personal triumph for the composer and is considered a tour de force for the orchestra.
