Peep Show
May 1
, 2009
A look into the lives of Mike Arreaga and Andrew Tolentino. Peep Show is a collaborative exhibition of photographer, Arreaga and mixed media artist, Tolentino. In an interactive showing of mixed-media work, photographs, and installations.
This is the first show that Arreaga and Tolentino have collaborated on, but they have always had a similar outlook on art and have embraced the concept of creative energy flowing from the world around them. The Idea of “Peep Show” lends itself to the vintage peep show genre, mixed with Arreaga and Tolentino’s desire to show others how much beauty they see in the world.
Through a walk-in video installation and other collaborative efforts, “Peep Show” translates monotonous every day terrains in to beauty as perceived by the two artists. Viewers are encouraged to interact with some of the work, peering through holes, not just looking but feeling texture and pulling off elements to put them where they see fit.
Hal Samples’ Space is located in Deep Ellum at 2814 Main Street. Event is open and free to the public. Please join us for this celebration! As always, complementary drinks and appetizers will await guests.
