Film: Tintoretto and the Golden Age of Venice

The film is part of the Kimbell’s Exploring Italy: Renaissance Masters and Patrons film series. This free program is approximately 45 minutes long.

The film traces Tintoretto’s career from his rivalry with Titian, which inspired him to develop a dynamic new style and daring technique, to his dramatic paintings as a mature artist.

The film series is offered in conjunction with the special exhibition Art and Love in Renaissance Italy. This cinematic tour of Italy’s cultural centers features the achievements of the Renaissance’s greatest artists and explores how leading families of the time nurtured their work.
