CREW Careers Building Opportunities Program

The project will include a one-day event entitled “This Old Building,” which has been selected by CREW members. In the Fair Park area, the “old” National Coffin Building.
The building was listed as vacant in 1951, however, the Reserve Life insurance Company moved into the building in 1952 until 1958. Allied Business Services, Inc. followed by a Sears Roebuck warehouse that occupied the building in 1959 and 1960.
Participating students will have the opportunity to tour the building and then work side-by-side with CREW members as they learn about various redevelopment concepts while covering a myriad of career paths available within the commercial real estate community. The girls will be divided into teams and will present their future development ideas for the building site.
The judges have been selected from leaders of the Dallas business and commercial real estate community who will appraise the quality of the presentations and award various awards and prizes to the winners.
