Kelly Garrett Rathbone
May 30
Rathbone spent two years studying at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, and lists artists such as Bernini and Michaelangelo as influential to her artistic development. In fact, two of the pieces to be exhibited were created during Rathbone’s time abroad. The title of the exhibition, “Apparizone Testimone,” roughly “Apparition, Witness,” attests to the classical Italian influence and religious iconography the artist has infused in these stunning, surrealistic figurative pieces.
The opening reception on May 30th runs from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. It is free of charge to attend, and complementary drinks and appetizers will be provided.
