Meadows Jazz Orchestra
November 3
The Meadows Jazz Orchestra will present an evening of small group jazz featuring such classic works as Stella by Starlight by Victor Young, Take Five by Dave Brubeck, Windows by Chick Corea and Groovin’ High by Dizzy Gillespie. The concert concludes with special performances by MJO director Akira Sato (trumpet) and guest artists Brad Williams (piano), Buddy Mohmed (bass) and Andrew Griffith (drums). The MJO, whose student members are selected by audition each fall, is dedicated to preserving the heritage of big band jazz while continuing to expand the genre.
