What does it truly mean to eat responsibly? Is more than our personal wellness at issue? Does what we consume in fact have ethical implications -- that is, consequences that affect our environment and more specifically the lives of other people? Nationally known environmental historian Dr. James McWilliams, winner of the 2009 Hiett Prize in the Humanities, will lead us in exploring such questions during this Fall Symposium of the Institute's Environmental Forum. Appearing with Dr. McWilliams will be spokespersons from a variety of environmental fields.
During the opening reception and after the program, Dr. McWilliams will be signing copies of his new book Just Food: Where Locavores Get It Wrong and How We Can Truly Eat Responsibly.
