Dallas Videofest 2009 - Legend Of The Dot Race - Chuck Morgan
November 6
, 2009
90 min.
His official title is Vice President, In-Park Entertainment, but to us Chuck Morgan is the Auteur of Stadium Entertainment. Anyone who has been to a Texas Rangers game knows that the music, video and everything about the presentation is great night after night and perhaps has more consistently than any baseball team. Chuck Started in Nashville announcing for the Gran ole Opera, then doing sports on a News station that had Pat Sajak, Oprah Winfrey and John Tesh. Eventually, he came to Arlington in 1983 and has been running the show part of the game since (except for a year in KC). We experience video entertainment all around us and most of it is a kind of noise, but at a Rangers’ Game the soul of a fan brings together all kinds of elements to keep us entertained. Baseball is by its nature a slow pastoral game, so it is a bit more of a challenge to keep the crown entertained, pumped up, and Chuck always keeps it going. We are happy to pay tribute to a man who brings the art of video to the people every night. Tonight’s tribute is presented by Ben and Skin, who are awaiting their next radio gig after being brilliant on the ticket and the fan.
