La Familia
November 6
, 2009
Adapted from a series of eight stories, these life-affirming, dynamically dramatized monologues first appeared in Teresa Merrero's recently published book of fiction, Entre la Argentina y Cuba: cuentos nómadas de viajes y tangos (Between Argentina and Cuba: Nomad Stories of Travels and Tangos; Buenos Aires: Corregidor, 2009. Available at Amazon.com). A fetus who does not want to be born speaks from the womb. Her existence ties the lives of eight others, some of whom are strangers. In the process of telling their stories, this ''family'' invites the audience to connect the links that ties them all together.
For adults, due to language and subject matter.
