Lift Up America
November 9
, 2009
Lift Up America and FC Dallas of Major League Soccer are teaming with Tyson Foods, Inc., to bring food to the area’s less fortunate. Following a brief press conference, FC Dallas players and coaches will help load food for the various receiving agencies. This is the team’s third year participating in the event. Clark Hunt, chairman of Hunt Sports Group, which owns and operates the Major League Soccer club, was part of the grass roots effort to form Lift Up America and has remained involved with the organization since its inception. In addition to hosting the LUA food drive, FC Dallas has hosted two children’s events for the organization.
The agencies receiving part of the 15 tons of donated food include: Frisco Family Services Center, Salvation Army McKinney, Plano Food Pantry, Minnie’s Food Pantry, AMA Food Pantry, Carver Heights Baptist Church, Community Breadbasket, North Dallas Shared Ministries, Christian Benevolent Ministries, and Crossroads Community Services.
