Stack the Deck for Vets
November 11
, 2009
Model Citizen, a unique nonprofit, founded by former Kim Dawson model, Stacie Martin, and model Toni Munoz, is launching this November with a marquee project, “Stack the Deck for Vets” – the ultimate deck of cards for our soldiers on the front line.
On Veteran's Day, November 11, 2009, “Stack the Deck for Vets” will be unveiled with a Casino Party Black Jack event to be held at SAMBUCA UPTOWN from 7 to 10 pm. Appearing live for a special performance are BLUES TRAVELER lead singer, John Popper, and guitarist Chandler Kinchla performing their #1 hit “Forever Owed” for vets and much more. Mingling among the guests will be fourteen international lingerie and swimsuit models from Kim Dawson Agency, whose photos grace the 52 cards in the deck.
A $100 donation for civilian do-gooders will include a deck of cards for you and one sent to a soldier on the front. Black Jack Tournament buy in will be $20 – three highest winners at the tables to win prizes. Premium stage seating available at $150 – first come first serve. Complimentary cocktails and food will be served. For every $20 donation you can buy a deck for yourself or a friend and one will be sent to the soldiers. All proceeds will be donated to selected Veteran’s Charities: Operation Homefront, Wounded Warrior Project, The USO, The Watering Seeds Organization, and Operation Once in a Lifetime.
This innovative event project marks a collaboration with some of Dallas’ top talent. Photographer Wade Livingston, known for the famous Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders' Calendar, shot the deck, and renowned Dallas-based artist, Christopher Martin’s “Jefferson,” a painted U.S. flag, serves as the front image of the cards. The models have gifted their time and images to benefit this important cause, along with celebrity make-up artists Kelly Whaley and Joanna Hathcock, and models turned stylist/producers, Toni Munoz and Carlotta Lennox who volunteered their talents to make this a first class project.
The initial order of ten thousand cards was generously paid for by corporate and individual donations. The Media sponsor of the event is Modern Luxury Magazine. Other sponsors for the evening include, John and Chan of Blues Traveler, Moet Hennesy, Andrews Distributing, William Noble Rare Jewels, Vision One Communication, and Sambuca Restaurant. Sponsorship opportunities and working partnerships to distribute and promote the cards are available.
