A Lie of the Mind, by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Sam Shepard, shows us the aftermath of a romance torn asunder by spousal abuse, and the war that breaks out between their two families. Jake is in agony for killing the woman he loves. Beth has survived, but only physically. A Lie of the Mind depicts the many ways that our heads protect us from our hearts.
