Carrollton Celebrates Texas Recycles Day

Texas Recycles Day is a statewide public awareness campaign that aims to educate Texans on the environmental and economic benefits of waste reduction and recycling. Its success served as the model for the development of America Recycles Day.
Keep Carrollton Beautiful is participating by holding an event on Saturday, November 14 in the parking lot at Newman Smith High School.
The event will be produced in sponsorship with Carrollton Evening Lions Club, Dallas Computer Parts, Firestone, AAA Recycling, The Knit Group, PTA Clothes Closet, Re-Candling, and Carrollton Community Garden. The sponsors will accept the following items to be recycled:
Eye glasses, hearing aids and durable medical equipment
Computers, monitors, hard drives, cables, software, electronics, phones, cell phones, stereos and printers
Car tires and car batteries
Scrap metal, and appliances (without Freon)
Yarn
Gently used, wearable clothing for children and adults
New, used or partially used candles
Garden tools of all types
