State Fair Youth Livestock Auction of Champions
October 2
, 2009
Join us Friday at 1:00 p.m. when statewide 4-H and FFA students show the champion animals they’ve worked long, hard hours to raise.
Last year, an anonymous donor choosing to support Texas 4-H & FFA Foundations purchased the 2008 grand champion steer for a record-breaking $95,000, and gross sales of 4-H/FFA animals offered to market totaled $1,032,450.
In addition to money pocketed by the young exhibitors, bids above pre-established caps generate funds for State Fair Scholarships, a program which provides financial support to students from around the state.
