My Sister in This House
October 9
My Sister in This House, which often echoes Jean Genet’s The Maids, is based on an actual incident that took place in the French town of Le Mans, France in the early 1930s. It centers on the lives of Christine and Lea, two servant sisters attached to the Danzard household. The Danzards’, mother and daughter, are models of petit bourgeois idleness and severity. While suffocating under the weight of the Danzards’ authority and the rigid lines of class distinction, Christine and Lea have only each other to cling to. This pressure cooker atmosphere - part psychological study and part thriller - results in a haunting and stunning emotional explosion.
The Pay What You Can performances are: Wednesday, October 7th/Preview, Thursday, October 8th/Opening, and Thursday, October 15th and Thursday, October 22nd. Discounts available for Seniors, Students, KERA Members, STAGE Members and Groups of Ten or More. Student Rush tickets available half hour before curtain.
There will be three POST SHOW TALK BACKS on Friday, October 9th, Friday, October 16th and Friday, October 23rd.
