Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway continues his commitment to the youth of Dallas by hosting his latest Community Teen Summit, A Conversation with Actor/Author Hill Harper.
This conversation will focus on two key issues for today’s teens: the importance of an education and making smart choices in relationships. Harper can currently be seen starring in CSI: NY and has written three books, each focused on issues facing black America. He is also a motivational speaker around the country.
Although he was named as one of People’s Sexiest Men Alive, Harper is not just a pretty face. He graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from Brown University (and was valedictorian of his department) and cum laude with a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He also holds a Master’s Degree with Honors from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
Where: Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing & Visual Arts Black Box Theater
When: Saturday October 10, 10 a.m. – Noon
Students will be able to participate in a Q&A session with Hill Harper following his presentation. Caraway will be giving away copies of Harper’s books to several lucky attendees. Harper will be available for autographs and photos. Each of his three books will be available for purchase.
