Sex in the Garden: The Secret Life of Gardens
October 24
There is an intimate relationship between plants and the insects and birds that pollinate them. Learn to uncover the bacchanal that is taking place in your garden (even at the family-friendly Arboretum). Take a fresh look at the birds and the bees and their role in the reproduction of plants. See how beautiful, innocent-looking flowers use their assets to lure insects and birds. Discover what bees know about our beloved bluebonnets but most people don’t. In other words, learn to look at plants more closely and appreciate the synergistic relationship between plants and their pollinators.
$20 for members, $22 for non-members.Class fees include admission to the garden and parking. After class, participants are invited to stroll through the gardens and see spectacular floral displays featured throughout the year. Class sizes are limited, so advance registration is required.
