Dine On The Line
September 9
Honoring Caroline Rose Hunt, Dine On The Line 09/09/09 is a culinary celebration to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the McKinney Avenue Trolleys.
On Wednesday, September 9th, the evening will kick-off at 6 p.m. with a Celebrity Cocktail Reception honoring Caroline Rose Hunt at fig (Fashion Industry Gallery).
“Without Caroline Rose Hunt’s vision and her support along with the Rosewood Corporation twenty years ago, the trolleys would have never rolled down the tracks,” said Phil Cobb, chairman of the board of the McKinney Avenue Transit Authority. “So we are dedicating our 20th Anniversary celebration to Caroline Rose Hunt and also commemorating the 100 year birthday of our streetcar named Rosie, which we named after Mrs. Hunt two decades ago,” he continued.
From the cocktail reception, diners board the trolleys to enjoy dinner at Dallas’ Dine On The Line 09/09/09 nine restaurants: Fearing’s, The Crescent Club, The Place At Perry’s, Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse, Capital Grille, Sambuca, Arcodoro & Pomodoro, Truluck’s Seafood Steak and Crab House and Mike Modano and Brett Hull’s Hully & Mo restaurant. Bread Winners Bakery Bistro will provide desserts.
At 8 p.m., Dine On The Line 09/09/09 guests return to fig (Fashion Industry Gallery) for desserts from Bread Winners Bakery Bistro, cocktails and dancing to internationally-renowned Beatles band, Hard Night’s Day, winner of the 2009 Dallas Observer Music Awards “Best Cover Band.”
Dean Fearing has agreed to take to the stage with the band singing “The One After 909,” a song by The Beatles written primarily by John Lennon (credited to Lennon/McCartney as one of the first Lennon-McCartney compositions) originally released in 1970 on the album Let It Be.
Tables of Ten are $5,000 or $1,250 per couple for the evening’s festivities including the cocktail reception, progressive dinner, and celebration.
To attend the Dine On The Line 09/09/09 Celebration with Hard Night’s Day, the cost is $25 per person which includes Bread Winners Bakery Bistro desserts, champagne and dancing at fig. Tickets can be purchased by calling 214-289-1126.
The evening will benefit 501c3 McKinney Avenue Transit Authority for the “Go Green” benefits to our community of historic street cars. Today, in excess of 350,000 people per year use the Dallas trolleys for professional commutes, shopping and dining.
