There is also a parking garage under the Quadrangle building that sometimes keeps the bars up for Theatre 3 parking on the weekends. It's at LaClede and Howell.

Yea, it is Historic district all right, Historic for tearing things down.... As for Art event's,they come and go, but then again I have been going down there 30 years so things have to change........less cars would be helpful, more bikes and walking...the street car..all of these things could make for a great street event, like they have back east...any suggestions....A/T...Dumb is cool...

This probably would have been a good one to display/sell some of my work at, but $350 for a booth and only one day, just kills me.

But just think of all the Affliction shirts you would get to see. Totally worth the $350.

Yeah, that Uptown is all about the arts!

So why do you suppose they made the fee so high? Hmmm...

You know, I’m thinking some guerrilla art-showing tactics are called for in this situation. What are they going to do if you just show up with, say 10 of your artist friends and crash their little party? Or just set up somewhere close by like a sidewalk by a busy parking lot?

I say let them see some real Dallas culture!! Not some synthetic version they are trying to manufacture.

eh..I might have to go reconnoiter. If anything bad were to happen, I could always say I was incited by an orangutan.

Hell, if you can get at least 5 artists to agree to it, I'll bring a big sign that says "The Real Party is Here" and some lemonade. Would say beer but it's probably not wise to bring alcohol into an already high-risk situation.

Worst case scenario, you get a ticket and a couple of minutes in the press. And there is no such thing as bad press. Just ask Paris Hilton.
