Opening the program with the first set will be the Akira Sato Quintet featuring trumpeter Akira Sato in his Sammons Jazz debut with Brad Williams on piano, Buddy Mohmed on bass, David Lown on saxophone and Andrew Griffith on drums. In the second set, we present The Inner City Allstars featuring some of the best and brightest young jazz artists around. This New Orleans style brass band is led by bandleader Calvin Sexton and includes David Seit on tuba, Quentin Moore on piano, Bruce Richardson on trumpet and Aaron Whitman on saxophone

This concert is the third presentation of the Spring 2010 Sammons Jazz series. The evening features the best live jazz entertainment as well as free valet parking, complimentary coffee, wine, beer, soft drinks, and light appetizers. Seating is general admission. Regular ticket price is $35; Member price is $30. All performances are in Meadows Hall at the Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines at Oak Lawn. All performances are on Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; doors open at 7:00 p.m. Dress is casual and all major credit cards are accepted. For tickets call 214/520-7789.
