This tribute concert in memory of Sammons Jazz favorite Leigh Tomlinson features two talented young vocalists. Opening the program with the first set will be the Carolyn Lee Jones Quintet featuring Carolyn in her Sammons Jazz debut with Brad Williams on piano, Jonathan Fisher on bass, Mario Cruz on saxophone and Andrew Griffith on drums. In the second set, we present another fabulous young singer, Ardina Lockhart, an alumna of Dallas Arts Magnet High School. She will be joined by Roger Boykin on piano, Carl Hillman on bass, Shelley Carrol on saxophone and Jamil Byron on drums.

This concert is the second presentation of the Spring 2010 Sammons Jazz series. The evening features the best live jazz entertainment as well as free valet parking, complimentary coffee, wine, beer, soft drinks, and light appetizers. Seating is general admission. Regular ticket price is $35; Member price is $30. All performances are in Meadows Hall at the Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines at Oak Lawn. All performances are on Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; doors open at 7:00 p.m. Dress is casual and all major credit cards are accepted. For tickets call 214/520-7789.
