The Gender Agenda: Beyond Borders, Pursuing Women’s Rights At Home and Abroad

“The Gender Agenda: Beyond Borders, Pursuing Women’s Rights At Home and Abroad” is an all-day event addressing a variety of issues that connect the lives of women of all ages, including such global concerns as eroding rights for women and the increase of violence against women and girls. The afternoon includes a panel discussion with internationally recognized young women who are advancing important social causes, including Ugandan-American Partnership Organization founder Brittany Merrill (SMU ’07), moderated by SMU Assistant Professor Maria Dixon. The evening dinner will feature a keynote address by feminist icon Gloria Steinem. The event is co-sponsored with the Veteran Feminists of America.
