Live jazz entertainment with a swinging evening of jazz classics opens with Corner Pocket, the outstanding swing band led by saxophonist Ryan McCullough debuting their new CD “Corner Pocket Live . . . At Last!” Band members include Clark Erickson on piano, Lynn Seaton on bass, Akira Sato on trumpet, Volker Ruckgaber on trombone, Kyla McIntyre on vocals and Andrew Griffith on drums. The second set presents a Sammons Jazz favorite, The John Adams Group led by the incomparable bassist, John Adams and featuring James King on Vocals. They will be joined by Noel Johnston on guitar, Brian Piper (Sammons Jazz Artist of the Year) on keyboards and Sean McCurley on drums.

This concert is the third presentation of the Fall 2010 Sammons Jazz series. The evening features the best live jazz entertainment as well as free valet parking, complimentary coffee, wine, beer, soft drinks, and light appetizers. Seating is general admission. Regular ticket price is $35; Member price is $30. All performances are in Meadows Hall at the Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines at Oak Lawn. All performances are on Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; doors open at 7:00 p.m. Dress is casual and all major credit cards are accepted. For tickets or information call 214/520-7789.
