During Tax-Free Weekend, Vista Ridge Mall will be supporting a variety of local organizations, hosting drives to collect items from fans and canned goods to school supplies. Included in the events are:
Blood Drive - All three days of Tax-Free Weekend, Vista Ridge Mall is hosting a Carter BloodCare Blood Drive. As an incentive, all donors are automatically entered to win tickets to professional sporting events, courtesy of Fox Sports Southwest. Winners will be drawn from all Carter BloodCare territories. In addition, each donor receives a pair of movie tickets. The donor station will be on the lower level near Macy’s. Hours are: Friday and Saturday, August 17 and 18: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 19: 12 to 6 p.m. For information about donor eligibility or to make an appointment, call Carter BloodCare at 1-800-366-2834 or visit www.carterbloodcare.org.
Back-to-school supply drive - Christian Community Action of Lewisville (CCA) will host a back-to-school drive asking individuals to donate school supplies and items needed for the beginning of the school year. Volunteers from CCA will collect donations on the upper level in the Food Court. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 17, 18 and 19:
Fans and Cans Drive - Vista Ridge Mall will collect canned goods and new or gently used fans for Christian Community Action of Lewisville (CCA). The items will be distributed to households in need. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 17, 18 and 19.
All three days, Vista Ridge Mall will observe longer hours to accommodate shoppers taking advantage of Tax-Free Weekend. Extended hours are: Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, August 19 from 12 to 8 p.m. Shoppers are advised that some stores, restaurants and entertainment venues at Vista Ridge Mall may observe different hours. Please call individual stores, restaurants or entertainment venues for hours.
