The African Chamber of Commerce-DFW (ACCDFW), in cooperation with the City of Dallas and the African Union Embassy in Washington, are hosting the 14th Annual African Economic Forum July 17-21, 2012 in Dallas, Texas.

This year’s forum focuses on Infrastructure and Investment Opportunities in Africa; moving the continent to an industrialized-era through private/public partnerships. Ambassador Amina Ali (African Union) and Ambassador Somduth Soborun (United Nations) have graciously agreed to Co-Chair this year’s forum. As the African Union's first female ambassador, Ambassador Ali is committed to promoting women's rights and children's issues. Prior to his current appointment as the Representative of the Republic of Mauritius to the United Nations, Ambassador Somduth Soborun was his country’s Ambassador to Egypt and Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Ambassadors’ Group to Cairo, as well as Ambassador and Head of Multilateral Economic Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The mission of ACCDFW is to promote trade, commerce, and cultural exchange between the US and African countries. The African Chamber of Commerce-DFW has helped over 40 local companies generate billions in revenue in Kenya, Ghana, Zambia, Nigeria and other African countries.
