With an extensive and impressive career in motion pictures, television and theater Academy Award-winning writer, actor, director and musician, Billy Bob Thornton has established himself as one of the most sought after filmmakers of his generation. Thornton has continued to amaze audiences with his skill and versatility as an actor, writer, director and musician. He wrote and starred in the 1992 release One False Move which brought him immediate critical praise. Thornton followed the film with several impressive performances in films such as Indecent Proposal, Deadman, Tombstone and The Man Who Wasn't There. In 1996 Thornton was honored with an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and a nomination for Best Actor for Slingblade which he also directed. Thornton returns to directing with Jayne Mansfield's Car (LSFF 2012 Opening Night film) which he also wrote and stars in.
