A Big Easy-style parade will roll down the streets of Lake Dallas and the distinctive sounds of New Orleans jazz will fill the air on Fat Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Lake Dallas City Hall will transform its grounds into a family-friendly town party beginning at 5 pm to 'Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez'... Let the Good Times Roll. The Nawlin's Gumbo Kings will be the headline evening entertainment with their New Orleans style of jazz that's a local favorite to cut loose and enjoy. Lake Dallas is the birth place of the Gumbo Kings and the City anxiously awaits their annual return back home. Mardi Gras costume and crawfish eating will be a crowd favorite as well as the announcements of the parade and youth Mardi Gras mask contest winners during the evening. A vendor market, great food including Cajun favorites and fun for the children are all planned for the 2013 Mardi Gras carnival in Lake Dallas.
