Free Art Film Discussion & Art Auction
3839 West Kiest Boulevard , Dallas, TX
First Tuesday Social Justice Films presents its Second Annual Art Film, Discussion and Silent Art Auction at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff.
“Press Pause Play” is a film about fear, hope and the digital culture. The digital revolution of the last decade has unleashed creativity and talent in an unprecedented way, with unlimited opportunities. But does democratized culture mean better art or is true talent instead drowned out? "Press Pause Play" is the recipient of the 2011 Newport Beach Film Festival for Outstanding Achievement in Documentary and the Jury Award for Best Documentary Feature at the Santa Cruz Film Festival.
Bidding from $5 to $500 on original and made-by-hand arts and crafts form local artisans including photography, sculpture, jewelry, painting, handcrafts, artisan-made items. Cash, checks or credit card. Doors open at 5:45pm.
Proceeds from the Silent Art Auction fund the Church’s Social Justice Ministry and the monthly socially relevant films for which there is no admission fee. For more information and schedules of upcoming films, visit the website at http://www.firsttuesdayfilms.org/index.shtml
