Artist Personality Quiz: Which famous artist are you most like? Take our quiz to find out. Then, wear that artist’s button and find other visitors who share the same traits.
C3 Making Space: Stop by to create a found object sculpture inspired by Martin Delabano’s Family Portrait 1963, on view in C3.
Art Cart: Participate in a variety of open-ended creativity games and processes inspired by modern European artworks.
Puzzle Stations: Help finish a jigsaw puzzle of Vernet’s A Mountain Landscape with an Approaching Storm (Level 2) or Edward Hicks’ The Peaceable Kingdom (Level 4) near the paintings.
smARTphone Tours: Use your own web-enabled device (such as an iPhone or Galaxy S III) to access new and interactive content about our collection. Access the smARTphone tour by typing DMA.mobi into your web browser.
Peace and Equality Self-Guide: Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. as you visit selected artworks in the DMA’s collection.
11:30 A.M - DMA Partners Orientation: Learn about the exciting benefits of our new DMA Partners program. Whether today is your first visit to the DMA or you’ve been a member of the Museum since the Fair Park days, we can’t wait to show you how important your support is and answer any questions you have.
NOON - Tours: Meet near the main Visitor Services Desk. Earn points and badges as you join DMA docents on tours of the collection. Take the Grand Tour as you explore our European collection, or prove that you’re an All-American as you discover American treasures past to present.
12:30 P.M.
Performance in the Galleries: Enjoy live music in the galleries performed on fiddle and guitar by Milo Deering and Kevin Bailey.
DMA Friends: Badges and Rewards: A Traveler, a Bookworm, and an Insomniac all walk into a museum . . . it’s no joke—earn these three badges, and more, by participating in DMA experiences. Join us for an overview of the cool badges and swanky rewards featured in the new DMA Friends program.
1:00 P.M. - Story Time in the Galleries: Enjoy an interactive storytelling performance inspired by the collection with our resident storyteller, Ann Marie Newman.
