Richard Ray has been creating art since an early age. He studied art at the Dallas Art Institute and El Centro College, and subsequently earned undergraduate and graduate art degrees at Dallas Baptist University and Texas Woman's University. In a long artistic career that spans decades, Richard has participated in numerous art exhibitions in venues that include the Farmers and Merchants Gallery, North Lake College, Art Annex, Dallas Baptist University, San Antonio Art Institute, and the Bath House Cultural Center, among many other sites. His vividly engaging paintings of scenes inspired by the lake have been admired by those who have seen his works in public and private collections, as well as by those who have had a chance to visit his studio in East Dallas during the annual White Rock Lake Artist Studio Tour. In addition to his individual projects, Richard has collaborated with his wife, artist and educator Marty Ray, in multiple projects that harmoniously incorporate his paintings and her ceramic pieces.
