Event is ongoing: Until Sunday, December 31, 2006
"The Artistry of the Nativity," a collection of 500 creches donated by the late Dr. and Mrs. Ray Harrington, returns to the spotlight of Holiday at the Arboretum. The nativities were collected over a 50-year period as the Harrington's traveled the globe. Each unique creation depicts a cultural interpretation of the nativity through design, materials and craftsmanship. They vary greatly in size and are made of assorted materials including Italian terra cotta, Austrian metal, Ecuadorian seeds, coconut shells and Waterford crystal. Artistry of the Nativity is on display throughout the festival in the DeGolyer Estate and continuous tours of the exhibit are lead daily from 10am - 4pm. The exhibit is closed on Christmas Day.
