DeGolyer Triennial Competition for American Bookbinding Exhibit

The Helen Warren DeGolyer Triennial Competition for American Bookbinding invites bookbinders to propose a design binding for a book held by Bridwell Library, as well as a recent example of their work. The winner of The Helen Warren DeGolyer Award for American Bookbinding receives a commission to bind the selected book according to his/her design proposal. In addition, prizes for excellence in fine binding and design are awarded.
A selection of entries, including proposals for Libri quatuor De imitatione Christi and binders' finished examples, will be exhibited in The Elizabeth Perkins Prothro Galleries at Bridwell Library from June 8 through July 14, 2012. Also on display will be the completed commissions of previous competition winners.
