Art With a View: David Harman
Start date: Sunday, August 12, 2012
End Date: Wednesday, September 19, 2012
On display August 12 - September 19 with an opening reception from 6-8pm on August 12th. Please join us to congratulate David on his fantastic new series.
As the sun passes from East to West in the perceptible sky, we take little notice of the continuous subtle changes of value and shadow. Natural light traces itself as image in our memory, quite literally at times burning itself on the retina, if only briefly. From this flow of raw information, we construct a sense of place. The process is regular and second nature; it is the ordinary transformation that our landscape undergoes every single day, part of the varying character of natural space. As much as light informs our surroundings, it can equally transform them in moments of direct or dramatic light, revealing a place truly not yet seen or a moment not yet realized.
David Anthony Harman is a native of Dallas, Texas. He received his BA in Painting from the University of Dallas. He is currently pursuing an MFA at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
