This Great Nation Will Endure: Photographs of the Great Depression
Start date: Thursday, February 15, 2007
Event is ongoing: Until Friday, March 9, 2007
The nationally acclaimed exhibit of more than 150 photographs depicting the Great Depression is the result of a partnership between TCC, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and the National Archives.
It is the first showing of the exhibit outside the FDR museum in Hyde Park, New York and is a replica of the exhibit at the museum. It has been created specifically for TCC.
Many of the photos were taken by the most well-known photographers of the 20th century who were hired by the Farm Security Administration to document the lives of agricultural workers in the depression, including Dorothea Lange and Gordon Parks.
In addition to the photographs, the exhibit includes music and DVD presentations and talks by several nationally renowned speakers who will share their expertise of the era.
