Doing Dutch

Doing Dutch will feature new works influenced by the Dutch culture. Joan Fabian recently completed a residency in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where she lived in an abandoned building co-habited by Dutch artists in a multi-cultural neighborhood that is being gentrified.

Fabian's paintings and mixed-media works are sensuous evaluations of pattern, colors, and form- based abstraction. A combination of rich color fields, and traditional and non-traditional ethnic patterning create works that speak to historical and contemporary genres simultaneously.
