Description

The Gentlings were twin brothers, artists, authors, and lecturers based in Fort Worth. Their awards are numerous; their paintings may be found in museums, libraries and private collections throughout Texas and the United States. The brothers are best known for the sky mural in the dome of Bass Performance Hall and an Audubon-style folio of paintings and essays, Of Birds and Texas. Scott received a commission to paint a portrait of President George Bush for the Texas State Capitol dome. In 1999, during the 100th anniversary of the Texas Audubon Society, the society honored the Gentlings by designating them as their Centennial Artist. Stuart Gentling died on August 30, 2006. Scott Gentling lives and works in Fort Worth.
