Sixty-four maps range from the earliest sixteenth-century maps of New Spain to twentieth century airline route maps. Dallas collectors Yana and Marty Davis assembled an impressive variety including an 1859 Butterfield Overland Trail transportation routes map and General Stephen F. Austin’s Later Edition 1840 map of Texas.
Visitors explore how the Texas shape evolved according to boundary changes throughout the centuries and investigate sociological shift s in how we think about travel. Old Red will be presenting an Educator Workshop as well as family programs for with this exciting exhibit. The exhibit runs from November 3, 2007 - February 23, 2008.
