Description
Unjung Lee captures the ever-changing story of her friends, family and herself through a series of "singing" portraits. She sees the act of communication as a song created by facial and body expressions and the personality of the subject as revealed by the overall manner of the time spent together.
Even though the cropped faces are trapped in boxes with grid lines, the multi-portrait format gives a feeling of movement similar to a stop-action filmstrip. So despite the lack of sound, the portraits of singing faces create a moving concert of beautiful harmonies in the gallery.
