H2OMG!
Start date: Tuesday, April 15, 2008
Event is ongoing: Until Monday, April 21, 2008
H2OMG! is a group exhibition assembled by graduate students from the University of North Texas, College of Visual Arts and Design. The theme of the exhibition is water conservation. Of all the world’s natural resources, water is perhaps the most precious. No living thing can survive without water. Yet water is the one natural resource most often taken for granted. People assume that there is an infinite supply of water available for human consumption. This, however, is not the case. The world’s supply of drinkable water is rapidly depleting, and unless measures are taken immediately to conserve what is left, the future will be bleak. The only way to preserve the planet’s supply of water is to make the public aware of the problem. It is therefore the goal of this exhibition to increase public awareness about the importance of water conservation.
H2OMG! will be held at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center April 15th through the 21st. The exhibit will include the works of fourteen different artists from nearly every field of the visual arts. All of the works will depict each artist’s interpretation of the idea of water conservation and hopefully drive home the message through the use of visual media.
