Bruthas With Something to Say features the work of Houston artists Nathaniel Donnett and Michael Khalil Taylor and Dallas artists Jeremy Biggers and Chris Herod. These four dynamic voices visually challenge us to re-examine our notion of "hero", contemplate the power of media language, investigate society's role in our success or demise, understand the trials and tribulations associated with being Black in America.
This mixed-media exhibition brings together four young men with distinctly different voices who care deeply about the society in which they participate. Their work speaks to the need to be fully engaged as individuals, always be a part of the solution to society's problems, as they use their artistic talent to shine a light on a myriad of ills we experience on a daily basis.
Also opening on Saturday, May 10 in the Emerging Artist Gallery are new works by Dallas artist Ron Davison. Well known in the North Texas area as a musician and poet, Ron like so many musicians, loves painting and has created a body of works he is ready to show the world.
